Growing Undergraduate Researchers to Investigate, Discover, Evaluate & Apply

IDEA'S PURPOSE

Undergraduates need to be equipped with research skills. The tools on this website were created to help undergraduates think like researchers and better meet the needs of future employers.

FOR STUDENTS

Learn the basics of conducting research and get ideas on how to start a research project.

FOR FACULTY

Explore the resources we've assembled to get ideas for mentoring undergraduate researchers, starting a new program, and more.

Project Purpose

The purpose of this project was to create and provide a central hub of information for undergraduate researchers and faculty mentors. The tools aim to provide practical solutions to some of the common obstacles associated with undergraduate research and paths toward success.

This program was funded by USDA-NIFA Award number 2024-70003-414448 through a Higher Education Challenge Grant.

Partners

Research Behind the Project

This project was informed by four key stakeholder groups: potential and former undergraduate researchers, industry and interdisciplinary partners, faculty in agricultural communication, and graduate student mentors.
